Northern Ohio Crops Day, Feb. 18, is this year's date for the Northern Ohio Crops Day that will be held at Ole Zim's Wagon Shed, 1375 N. State Route 590, Gibsonburg. Featured on this year's program will be: "No Drift Zones and Other Application Issues; Power for Today's Agriculture; Weed Issues Field to Fence Row; Insect Update Smartstax and Seed Treats, Split Field Trials are these Valid Comparisons; plus more.

Re-certification credits have been approved for private and commercial pesticide applicators. The program fulfills the requirements for private applicators in core and categories 1, 9 and 12; Commercial pesticide credits for core, categories 2A, 2C. At the end of the program we will show tapes to fill other private categories. There will be a charge for pesticide re-certification credits. Private applicators charge is $20; commercial credit will be $15 per credit hour.

The program has also received Certified Crop Advisor Continuing Education Units for; Crop Management (1.0), Pest Management (3.0), and Soil and Water Management (0.5).

The meeting starts at 9 a.m. and continues until 3 p.m. A $10 donation will be accepted at the door to help with expenses which includes a copy of the Ohio and Indiana Weed Control Guide 2010.
